Ezio pauses, thinking about her question. If you had no obligations, what would you do?

It's difficult for him to say, at first. Since being an assassin, he hasn't had the time to truly consider things other then, at first- vengeance- and later on just for the good of the people. Caring about what he wants and what he needs has always come secondary to that ideal, no matter the situation. So to be asked what he would do, if he was never made an assassin in the first place, if his famiglia had never died... it brings a certain light to his mind that he hasn't really considered much before.]

It isn't something I have thought about much, ma...

[...He would be a father. A proud one, of both his sons and daughters, if he ever has any. With a wife to love and hold dear, to call his own. It's a very far off goal he has always wanted, despite being such a womanizer since a young age, but it's still there, buried deep under the layers he's built over the years.]

I would live. Not as I do now, no- but embrace every moment that I had as something new, something different. There are so many colors, people, things to see, bella, that we all take them for granted each day. I have spent half my life traveling, but never taking in the sights around me. I have spent it talking to others, but never truly listening. Because of that, I have missed so much, been blinded by distractions, and cannot find them again, no matter how far I go, or how many rooftops I may travel. There are some things you simply cannot get back once they are gone.

[Alice, take note of what he's trying to say here. This is what being on the path of vengeance has taught him.

"There's always more to life than just existence. Do not waste what you have been given, because everything you do changes the world."]
